Paul's prayer in Ephesians 3 is not a prayer about circumstances. It is a prayer that believers would truly grasp the depth of God's love and be transformed by it. Paul asks that we would be strengthened in our inner lives by the Holy Spirit, that Christ would dwell deeply in our hearts, and that we would comprehend a love so vast it surpasses full understanding. God's love is not something we earn. He chose us, adopted us, and calls us His own, just as a parent chooses an orphaned child and gives them a name, a home, and a future. When we genuinely believe we are unconditionally loved by God, everything changes. We approach Him with confidence, love others more freely, and trust His plan even in the middle of pain.
