Summer is almost here and if you have a student in 4th through 12th grade, you’re probably already thinking about how to make it count.
There are a lot of options out there. Sports camps, academic programs, vacation Bible schools. But if you’re looking for something that goes deeper, something that could change how your student sees themselves and their faith. Then a Christian summer camp might be exactly what they need.
We’re sending MCC Youth students to two camps this July, and we want to tell you why we think it matters.
There’s something that happens when you take a student out of their normal environment. Away from the noise, the screens, the social pressure, and put them somewhere they can just breathe and listen.
Research consistently shows that camp experiences are among the most significant moments in a young person’s faith journey. Away from distractions, students often hear from God in a personal way for the very first time.
At a great Christian summer camp for teens, students don’t just sit through lectures. They worship together, build real friendships, ask hard questions, and discover that faith isn’t something their parents have. It’s something they can own for themselves.
That’s what we’re after.
When MCC Youth chooses camps or puts one on, we’re not just looking for a fun trip. We’re looking for an experience that continues the work we do every Sunday and Wednesday, moving students from knowing about God to personally experiencing Him.
Here’s what matters to us:
Trinity Pines | Trinity, TX | July 17–20
Refuel is our preteen and junior high camp, held at Trinity Pines in Trinity, Texas. It’s four days of worship, teaching, games, and fellowship designed specifically for students in Route 456 Preteen Ministry and The Bridge Jr High Ministry.
For a lot of our preteens, Refuel is the first time they experience God outside of a Sunday morning and it sticks with them. Cost: $390 per camper. Transportation provided.
Tejas Camp & Retreat | July 26–30
One United is our high school camp, where SHIFT students join teens from across the region for five days of worship, peer discipleship, and Spirit-led teaching. This is where identity gets real and students leave with a faith that’s truly their own. Cost: $450 per camper. Transportation provided.
You don’t have to have it all figured out to show up. Camp is for the student who’s been walking with Jesus for years and the one who’s still figuring out what they believe.
If your family is in the Magnolia, Texas area and you’re looking for a youth group near you or a Christian summer camp experience that goes beyond the ordinary, we’d love to have your student with us this July.
Spots are limited. Register today.
