Today’s message focuses on Holy Monday, when Jesus entered the temple and forcefully cleansed it. What was meant to be a place of prayer had become crowded with noise, commerce, and self-interest. Jesus’s actions reveal His deep concern for pure worship and genuine devotion.
This was not a random display of anger, but a prophetic act. Jesus was declaring that God desires hearts fully devoted to Him—not distracted, divided, or driven by convenience. The temple represented the spiritual center of Israel, yet prayer had been pushed aside.
For believers today, this moment carries personal significance. Scripture tells us that we are now God’s temple. Holy Monday invites us to examine what occupies our hearts. Prayer and fasting create space for God to lovingly overturn anything that competes with Him.
Lord, search our hearts today. Reveal anything that distracts us from true worship and teach us to become people of prayer. Amen.
