Today, we’re continuing our focus on how God provides — even when life feels like it’s flooding all around us.
In Genesis 7, we read the story of Noah. Humanity had turned away from God, and He decided to cleanse the earth with a great flood. But even in that moment of judgment and chaos, God provided a way forward.
He found favor in Noah and gave him instructions to build an ark — to take his family and two of every kind of animal — so they would be safe when the waters came.
And in Genesis 7:18, we read:
“As the waters rose higher and higher, the boat floated safely on the surface.”
Even as the floodwaters rose, the ark floated.
That simple sentence holds a powerful reminder: God always provides a way to keep His people safe — even when the world around them feels overwhelming.
Maybe you’ve been in a season where it feels like the waters are rising in your life — where everything seems uncertain, out of control, or not going the way you expected.
In those moments, it’s easy to feel fearful or frustrated, wondering where God is in the middle of it all.
But just like Noah, we can trust that God is still working.
His provision doesn’t always look like our plan.
Even when life feels unstable, He provides peace, strength, and direction to keep us afloat.
When the floodwaters of life rise, remember:
The story of Noah reminds us that the same God who guided the ark through the flood is the same God guiding us through the storms of life.
When life feels uncertain or overwhelming — pause.
Take a breath.
Draw close to God in prayer.
Ask Him to remind you that He has a plan — a plan to prosper you and not to harm you (Jeremiah 29:11).
Even when the waters rise, your faith in Him will keep you afloat.
Dear God, thank You for who You are and for all that You provide.
When the waters rise and life feels uncertain, help us trust that You are in control.
Give us peace that surpasses understanding and strength to rely on You — not ourselves.
Remind us that You never leave us or forsake us, and that You have good plans for our future.
Thank You for Your love, Your power, and Your steady provision.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
