What a meaningful journey these last few weeks have been — 21 days of seeking God’s heart, drawing closer to His presence, and recognizing His faithful provision in every season.

Today, as we conclude this journey, we turn to a moment in Mark 12:40–44 — a passage where Jesus redefines generosity, faith, and trust.

As Jesus sits near the temple treasury, He watches people bring their offerings. Many wealthy individuals give large sums. Their gifts seem impressive — outwardly significant.

But then, something unexpected happens.

A poor widow approaches quietly and drops in two small copper coins — worth almost nothing in the world’s eyes.

Jesus immediately calls His disciples over and says:

“Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.
They all gave out of their wealth;
but she, out of her poverty, put in everything — all she had to live on.”

This is more than a story about money.
It’s a story about trust.

The widow’s gift wasn’t valuable because of its size —
but because of the faith behind it.

She gave not from abundance,
not from comfort,
not from security —
but from a deep belief that God would provide.

Her offering said,
“God, I trust You more than I trust what I have in my hands.”

That is the heart of true generosity.

God isn’t impressed by amounts — He’s moved by trust.
He isn’t looking at the value of the gift — He’s looking at the posture of the giver.

This story invites us to remember:

  • Generosity is an act of worship.

  • Giving is a declaration of trust.

  • Surrender opens the door for God’s provision.

When we release what we hold tightly, God often meets us with something far greater — not always in financial ways, but in deeper peace, greater joy, renewed strength, spiritual maturity, and opportunities to bless others.

As we finish these 21 days, this story becomes a powerful call:

To trust more deeply.
To give more freely.
To worship with open hands and open hearts.

Challenge

Today, take a meaningful step of faith by giving something intentionally — not from abundance, but from trust.

Give:

  • Your time

  • Encouragement

  • Forgiveness

  • Service

  • Resources

  • A prayer for someone

  • A generous word

  • Or simply your willingness to obey God

Ask Him:

“Lord, grow my faith as I give. Teach me to trust You with everything.”

Remember:
God isn’t measuring the size of your gift — He’s looking at the faith in your heart.

Prayer

God, thank You for reminding us that true generosity begins in a place of trust.
Teach us to give with open hands and open hearts, knowing that You are our ultimate provider.
Help us release our fear, our control, and our dependence on what we have, so we can depend fully on You.
Use what we offer — big or small — to bring hope, healing, and blessing to others.
Let our faith reflect Your kindness, Your goodness, and Your faithfulness.
We give You all the glory and praise.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
