I was raised in a Christian home, but I never heard how Jesus can rescue me from my sins, and I can have His forgiveness.
As a young adult, I searched for the truth, and while I was in a cabin in the mountains, I asked the Lord to tell me if the Bible was the truth. There was a knock at the door, but no one was there. I remembered the Bible verse – “I stand at the door and knock.” Then, I knew the Bible was the truth. But I continued to live a self-centered life with many relationships. That did not fill the empty hole in my heart. Years later, divorced with 2 children, I became a Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. David in the Psalms said, “He took me out of the mud and mire and set my feet on a rock.” That Rock is Jesus. That’s when everything in my life changed. The Bible says, “Behold, all things are new.” In Elizabeth Elliot’s book, Passion and Purity, she said, “Don’t look for a husband, but be the kind of woman God wants you to be and the right man will be attracted to you.” God put a Godly man in my life and we have been married 34 years.
Sewing quilts is my creative outlet. I have been a short-term missionary and been involved in other women’s ministries. I have been blessed to have a mentor (and friend) for many years. My heart is to walk with women who want to grow in their faith with Christ.
