My husband and I have been married for 57 years. We’ve raised two sons, we
have 4 granddaughters, ages 10 to 29, 3 grandsons, 15, 16, and one in heaven
with his Daddy. Our younger son passed away in 2021.
I was born again and baptized at an early age in life, but like so many who are not
discipled, my spiritual walk was like a roller coaster, in and out of the grounding
needed for spiritual growth. Despite that, in 1975 God called me out of Isaiah 61 to “heal the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to captives and to comfort those who mourn.”
However, I didn’t know at that time that I, too, was a captive who desperately
needed to be set free. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge.”
Sometimes we don’t know what we don’t know! God was faithful to give me
beautiful spiritual mommas during those years that helped me to grow spiritually,
finding the freedom I walk in today.
I have seen God deliver and heal many addictions, including alcohol, drug, and
sexual addictions. I have facilitated support groups for wives of men battling
sexual addictions.
My husband and I are past leaders of the Grief Share Ministry here at MCC, and
we established the MCC Life Group for any and all addictions, for those
recovered, for those still recovering, and for those who love someone battling
addiction. We have recently turned this Life Group over to the couple we’ve been
mentoring for leadership this past year.
My heart has been to walk in love and compassion with women of all ages who
are brokenhearted and hurting, and with those who want to grow in their
relationship with Jesus, helping them find the abundant life He promises all of us
in His Word.
