What are we Learning this Month?

I AM MEANT TO KNOW GOD

Sometimes, it might feel like God is anonymous, aloof, or just ambiguous. The good news is that He is not far off, but near and knowable! And when we know what God is like, everything around us comes into focus.

Here are the main ideas we’ll be exploring with the students:

  • Because God is holy, He is different than me and yet still accessible to me. (Isaiah 6:1–8)
  • Because God is faithful, He will follow through on what He’s promised. (Genesis 1–3; 9:1–17; 12:1–3; 15:1–6; Deuteronomy 29:1–15; Hebrews 8:7–13)
  • Because God is just and kind, He is not neutral toward evil. (Genesis 6:9–17)
  • Because God is wise, He can give clarity to the things I don’t understand. (Daniel 2:1–30)

AT HOME OR IN THE CAR

  • Ask "What do you think about God?"
  • Ask "What characteristics come to mind?"  
  • Ask "Are these characteristics important or do they impact how you see the world around you?"
  • Pray that God's character becomes clearer to them and that they become excited about what they see.
