What are we Learning this Month?

I AM SET APART

For the month of April, your students will be focusing on the truth, “I Am Set Apart,” with the help of our theme, Distinct. We will be talking this month about what it really means to belong to God’s family. Members of this family are called to live differently than the world around them. Throughout the month, we’ll explore these main ideas:

• Belonging to God means I can be part of His family. (Mark 15:33-16:7)

• Belonging to God means I can focus on Him. (1 Peter 1:13-25)

• Belonging to God means I can speak to and about others lovingly. (James 3:3-13)

• Belonging to God means I can put others’ needs above mine. (Philippians 2:1-11)

This way of living, also called holiness, isn’t something we have to pursue to earn God’s love. Instead, it is a response to the fact that we’ve already been welcomed into His family. We can’t wait to dig into these concepts, encouraging students to pursue the set-apart life they were designed to live.

AT HOME OR IN THE CAR

  • Ask "Where do you feel you belong?"
  • Ask "What does Humility mean and what do you think it looks like?"
  • Pray that this truth of who they are in Christ takes root.  That God shows them the blessings that come with humility and following Jesus instead of the world.
