Devotional
In our world of conditional love and transactional relationships, Jesus stands out as the ultimate giver. His love isn't based on our performance or worthiness - it's unconditional and endless. He gave everything: His life, His blood, His time, His mercy, His grace, and His love. This kind of giving sets the standard for how we should live our lives as followers of Christ. When we truly understand the depth of His giving, it transforms how we view our own resources and possessions. Everything we have is a gift from Him, and He invites us to participate in His giving nature.
Bible Verse
"Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you." - Luke 6:38
Reflection Question
In what areas of your life do you find it hardest to be generous, and how might remembering Jesus's ultimate gift help you overcome this?
Quote You cannot mention Jesus and not understand that he is the ultimate giver. He gives of his life, he gave of his blood, of his time, his mercy, his grace, his unconditional love, his forgiveness. And there's nothing that you can do to keep him from loving you.
Prayer
Generous Father, thank You for Your endless giving nature. Help me to become more like You in my giving - not just of money, but of time, love, and grace. Transform my heart to be more generous. Amen.
